 Youth Dance-registration is now open, all sessions will begin on Sept 18 or Sept 20, ALL CLASSES WILL BE HELD AT THE RECREATION BUILDING

Youth Soccer-ages 4-9-registration is now open, the season will begin Sept 10 at the Bill Seeber Soccer Complex

Youth Karate-registration is now open, the session will begin Aug 30, all classes will be held at the Recreation Building.
Info about Sensei Tammy Pfrang:
Sensei Tammy Pfrang is a 3rd Degree Black belt trained in Okinawan style and progressive karate do’. She began her training in Okinawa, Japan and now has over 30 years as a karate practitioner and competitor. Many of those years have been spent training and teaching youth and adults.  Sensei Tammy teaches in a traditional style with honor, integrity, respect, self-discipline, and goal setting/achieving at the center of her teachings.
She is passionate about teaching karate in a relational way. Students should expect to receive knowledge and guidance to not only accomplish karate goals, but also life goals.  Students will learn respect of others and themselves. Students will learn to set goal and work hard to achieve them. This class will provide a positive peer group in an atmosphere of humility and respect. Students will learn to continually establish the proper kind of selfconfidence to not be a victim of violence/bullying through problem solving without fighting.  Physical skills taught in karate are only to be used in self-defense situations. 
  
  

Summer Food Program

-A free luncheon program for all children 18 & under served at the Youth Center, Monday through Friday, June 4 to August 10, 2018.  This program is available to all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.  Any person who feels they have been discriminated against in any USDA related activity should write:

The Recreation Department is proud to partner with the Kids Foundation of Rantoul, which provides assistance to families in the community for Recreation programs for children in Kindergarten thru 8th Grade.

Senior Activities

Silver Sneakers


Are you 65+ and looking to improve your over all well-being, strength and social aspects?  Then Silver Sneakers is what you are looking for.  Contact your insurance provider to see if you qualify, then simply stop by the Recreation office and sign up for your free pass today.  For more information please visit the Silver Sneakers website. 

Woodworking Shop


The shop is open to the public on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, 6-9pm and Saturday mornings, 8-11am.  The shop is located in the Recreation Building.  

Garden Plots


The Recreation Department offers 2 locations for garden plots rental, North Dr Park and Layman St (south of the Recreation Building).  Plots are reserved starting April 1, and the cost is $25 for the first and $12.50 for each additional, we offer a 50% discount for seniors.

Peace Meal

Lunches are served Monday-Friday at the Community Service Center, 520 E. Wabash, Rantoul.  For more information concerning this program and the requirements, please call 217-893-5506.

Rules of the Road Courses


Courses are occasionally held at the Recreation Building to review the Rules of the Road and are instructed by the Secretary of State, please visit cyberdriveillinois, to stay up to date on their schedule.
