Message from the Rantoul Police Department

We thank the Rantoul community for your continued support of the police department. We are committed to serving and protecting our community based on the ideals of community-based policing and living up to our values:

We are committed to honesty, candor, and ethical behavior; accepting individual responsibility and accountability for actions and our decisions. We are stewards of the public’s trust and we have a commitment to service that is transparent.

We are committed to treating all people with respect, compassion, and concern; treating others as we want to be treated. We value diversity and welcome individual perspectives, backgrounds and opinions.

We are committed to professionalism, service and moral courage. We take pride in ourselves, in our department, and in the Village of Rantoul. We strive to exceed the expectations of our community through quality and continuous improvement.

Last year we developed a five-year strategic plan which serves as a blueprint to guide our organization. It was the culmination of months of planning, research, and discussion about priorities and the focus of our organization. The plan reaffirms our commitment to serving and protecting our community to maintain the safety of our citizens, to preserve the peace, and to improve the quality of life in the Village of Rantoul.

It is with your support we will be able to move forward and achieve our vision of being a model law enforcement agency by creating partnerships, building trust, reducing crime and improving the quality of life in our community.

We encourage you to review the strategic plan on our website.

Thank you.
