License Requirement
Per the Village of Rantoul Code of Ordinances Chapter 6, Article III, "Raffles" in order to organize, conduct, participate in, or sponsor a raffle within the Village, Not-for-Profit Organizations must be licensed with the Village. Application Information
Applications for the licensing of Raffles are available to those who affirm that they can comply with the Village of Rantoul Municipal Code. The application form must be completed in its entirety, and all documentation must be provided prior to receiving the license.
The required documents for licensing your business with the Village are located below. Be certain to read each document in its entirety, and when you are ready to register your business, return these to Executive Assistant Tana Ward, located in Village Hall. Allow three weeks for processing.
License Fee
- Single (Prizes under $1,000.00) - $5.00 per Event
- Single (Prizes over $1,000.00) - $10.00 per Event
- Multiple (Prizes under $1,000.00) - $50.00 Annually
- Multiple (Prizes over $1,000.00) - $75.00 Annually
Bond Requirement
The operation and conduct of any Raffle shall be under the supervision of a single Raffle Manager designated by the organization. The Raffle Manager shall provide a Fidelity Bond in the sum of $1,000.00, or such other amount as is equal to the aggregate retail value of all prizes given in any single raffle, whichever sum is greater. The Bond requirement may be waived provided that a three-fourths majority vote of the Not-for-Profit Organization’s governing body has occurred and been documented.
